I FINALLY got a tablet! WAHOO! So this is my first drawing with it, done in Painter Classic.

I'm not really sure why I decided on this particular drawing, but last week, while waiting for my tablet to arrive, I thought "Wouldn't it be cute if a tiny dragon came and started drinking out of my glass?".. and so this is what came out of my strange brain.

I spent many hours on this and put in quite a lot of detail, so PLEASE full-view! Thank you! :)

This is adorable and funny (especially the angle :giggle:)!

I have a dragon character (also red) and this is just the kind of thing he'd do. xD

If I owned a bar, I'd buy this.
It looks like an incredibly great piece to hang in a bar.

Aw, it's unbelievably adorable and beautiful at the same time ^^ This is really great for your first tablet. My first try sucked o.o
I also liked the look it has about it that the tiny little dragon is just a tad too small to drink the bit of water at the bottom. And the little wings just adds to that same concept. I also can't get over that long tail curling around the glass. It's just eyecatching for some unfathomable reason.
Kudos for effort on your first tablet-work, bud :D

I really like that glass, one of the more difficult things to get right and it looks nice! And I like the shiny scales on his bum. :XD:

This was your first try? O_____o Holy shizz! It's great! 8D My first try was hideous. DX I still can't draw line art on a tablet. D;

Anyway...The glass...is AMAZING. @___@ I love the reflections on it, and how you conveyed how delicate and thin it is. I also like the way the water looks in it. There's a certain amount of movement portrayed in it. And I love the whole concept. It's absolutely beautiful. How you compared a seemingly strong creature to the fragility of a glass. Love the way the dragon's tail is entwining around the stem of the glass. 8D It sorta makes the two one, so to speak. :)

Beautiful perspective, beautiful proportion...everything looks great. :XD:

i fav'd this guy a while ago but i keep coming back to look at it...i think it is such an interesting concept and i really like the fact that the dragon is more like a hummingbird than any real threat. one of my favorites

Hehe, yes, it's a miniature dragon. I was kind of imagining a teeny dragon flying around the house (of course this guy's wings would most definitely be too small to actually be able to fly... but that's why it's fantasy, right?)

Anyway, like it alot.

Thank you so much! About the dragon's mouth... The mouth started off smaller, but strange thing... hehe... as I was drawing it, I started to imagine if the dragon yawned, and I decided "Wow, that would be cool if his mouth opened up REALLY wide!"... hehehe, I'm such a geek! And the original sketch did have the tongue sticking out, but I just couldn't make it look right... but it was my original intent :)

Simply amazing for a first try. A wonderful and cute idea (yes, who would have come up with THAT!? :giggle:) and beautifully executed! Wow. Especially for a first try. It is obvious you have an eye for lighting and colors and em...cuteness :giggle:*nudgenudge*

A fave, which I didn't expect. ;) :)

Thank you so much! Yes, the tablet is pretty hard, actually. I've gained a lot of respect for the awesome digital artists on DA (I still have a LONG way to go!). It's especially hard getting used to drawing on a surface, and having the drawing show up somewhere else as opposed to just looking at a paper and seeing how the pencil comes along while you draw (if that made any sense!)

Lol! Sadly, that makes perfect sense, since that is one of the problems that I am having. That and how it drags on the skin on my hand wrong and finally that if you turn the tablet, the picture doesnt' turn. Sigh.

Yes! I turn my paper and paintings all the time when I work on them... My initial thought was that if I turned the tablet it would turn it from horizontal to vertical or something... it was VERY confusing to me at first... But eventually I did catch on (luckily!) I fiddled around with the different tools for a while before I actually started drawing.
